# Tokenomics

### Introduction

EpicApes ecosystem is supported by innovative hybrid token model designed to drive fairness, engagement, and long-term sustainability. The ecosystem consists of one main token ($EPIC) and three secondary off-chain tokens — each tied to core user activities: gameplay, questing, and NFT staking.

These secondary tokens ($CASH, $SP, and $EXP) are earned through active participation and define a user’s share in future $EPIC airdrops. This model minimizes bot activity, maximizes rewards for the most engaged players, and ensures fair distribution — all transparently managed by smart contracts.

By decoupling on-chain distribution from off-chain activity tracking, we maintain flexibility, reduce gas costs, and deliver a scalable Web3-native experience.

## $EPIC Token

$EPIC is the official on-chain token that powers the EpicApes ecosystem, serving as the core currency across all products and features. It will be released in Q4 2025 and have a capped total supply of 1 billion tokens. $EPIC enables players to purchase premium items, access advanced features, and participate in governance as the ecosystem evolves.

A significant 60% of the total $EPIC supply is allocated for community airdrops, directly rewarding users based on their in-game activity, quest participation, and NFT staking. This model ensures fair distribution, drives engagement, and supports sustainable long-term growth through a fully transparent, on-chain reward system. Read detailed information by the link below:

## $CASH: Play-to-Earn Utility Token

$CASH is an off-chain utility token that represents a player’s contribution within the [EpicApes game](/games/epicapes-adventures.md) — a mobile auto-battler where players battle enemy waves, develop their characters, upgrade skills, complete missions, and earn valuable resources.

$CASH plays a crucial role in determining each player's share of the $EPIC token airdrop. To ensure fairness and transparency, all $CASH-related activities are recorded on-chain, even though the token itself remains off-chain.

## $SP: NFT Staking Token (Staking Points)

$SP is an off-chain token earned by staking [EpicApes NFTs](/ecosystem/nft-collection.md) that are equipped with special staking-based traits. These tokens reflect a holder's long-term engagement and contribution to the EpicApes ecosystem, and directly impact their $EPIC airdrop eligibility.

To add staking-based traits, holders must participate in [Expeditions](/games/epicapes-expeditions.md) — a gamified web activity where NFTs are sent on resource-gathering missions. These resources are then used to craft and upgrade traits that unlock staking capabilities. Lear more about Expeditions by the link below:

## $EXP: Quest & Social Token (Experience Points)

$EXP is awarded to users for completing quests on the web platform, which range from simple social actions like liking tweets to more advanced multi-step missions. In addition to quest completion, users can also earn $EXP by participating in referral campaigns, finishing quests from partner projects, and engaging in seasonal events.

The more effort a quest requires, the greater the $EXP reward. These points directly influence a user’s share in the $EPIC airdrop, making $EXP a vital element for encouraging user activity, long-term engagement, and ecosystem growth.
